Summit moments

- Wieden at the foot of the Belchen

The best in the Black Forest can be found in and around Todtnauer Ferienland, Belchenland and Wieden. Whether it’s Feldberg, Belchen or Herzogenhorn, it’s paradise for ramblers and nature admirers of all ages.
The other summits in the area are not less interesting either! They’re just waiting for you to find them.
Feldberg
Feldberg 1,495 m
The Feldberg with it’s 1,495 meters s the highest mountain in the Black Forest and without doubt the most visited! You can get there by car or public transport ( for guests in TF, Belchenland & Wieden free of charge) by taking the B317. the summit can be reached using the cable car, for ease.
Herzogenhorn
Herzogenhorn 1,415 m
From the Herzogenhorn there is a fantastic view to be enjoyed. Especially when there is a clear view of the Alps. Drive, take the bus, or walk to the top of the Feldberg Pass and you’ll see a small road to your right ( to a car park for walkers). From here it’s about 1km to the summit!
Belchen
Belchen 1,414 m
A beautiful view over the valleys and towards the Alps and Vosges can be enjoyed from the Belchen (The Black Forest’s favourite mountain) with it’s 1,414m at the summit. Take the B317 towards Lörrach, and follow the signs, or use public transport. From Wieden, past the Wiedener Eck to the cable car or from Schönau over Aitern. The summit can only be reached by cable car or by walking as it is a designated nature reserve.
Schauinsland
Schauinsland 1,284 m
Schauinsland (1,284m) can be reached from Freiburg-Horben with the cabel car. From Todtnau take the road to Muggenbrunn / Notschrei or use public transport (free of charge for our guests) and then to Hotel Halde. From there it’s about a 2 km walk.
Hasenhorn
Hasenhorn 1,158 m
The Hasenhorn (1,158m) is Todtnau’s local summit, with it’s wonderful views of the Feldberg, Belchen and the Wiesental Valley. A chair lift is in operation in case you don’t want to walk. The newly built tobbogan run, the winter tobbogan run and the children’s magical walk are top attractions.
